Between two ridges in the hills above Boonville, just a few miles east of our estate ranch, sits another Lazy Creek Pinot Noir ranch, Middleridge. Characterized by predominantly gentle and open rolling hills studded with large oak trees, Middleridge is a 160-acre ranch planted to 22 acres of Pinot Noir grapes at 1,100-foot elevation, offering breathtaking views of Anderson Valley below, all the way from Boonville to Philo. It’s quiet and peaceful, with warm, western winds that gently sweep across the vineyards in the afternoon. Planted to well-regarded Swan and Calera Pinot Noir clones, the flavor profile of these grapes tend to be very fruit driven, with intense cherry and lush raspberry, but still retain the singular Anderson Valley spice and minerality.
