TASTING NOTES
Beautiful pale pink in color, our 2018 Lazy Creek Vineyards Rosé of Pinot Noir from Anderson Valley is a light, delicious Rosé. Made from 100% Pinot Noir grapes, this wine has fresh, delicate aromas and flavors of strawberry, cherry, watermelon, orange blossom, mandarin orange and citrus with nice floral notes, crisp and refreshing acidity.

VINTAGE NOTES
2018 was a very good year with ideal weather conditions for the vines. Spring produced great set, and average rainfalls led to normal to above‐normal yields. Consistently warm temperatures during the summer months without any drastic heat spikes or rain events allowed for longer “hang time” for the grapes, which led to fully ripe flavors.

WINEMAKER NOTES
This 100% Rosé of Pinot Noir is sustainably farmed, utilizing only organic materials in the vineyards. The grapes are hand harvested in the early morning hours, then transported to the winey where they are gently destemmed, crushed and cold soaked on the skins for a brief period — just long enough to pick up the wine’s lovely pink hue and extract flavors from the skins — then pressed to tank. After 24 hours of settling, yeast is added and fermentation is kept cold to retain aromas. Once fermentation is complete, the wine is racked and SO2 is added to inhibit malolactic fermentation. The wine was blended in January and then bottled in March.

FOOD PAIRINGS
Served chilled, this wine’s light, floral characteristics make it a natural choice for pairing with fresh seafood like salmon, crab or shrimp and game meats like venison, duck, Cornish hens, lamb or turkey. Try the Rosé with eggs Benedict, vegetable or seafood frittata or breakfast crêpes. Mild cheeses such as fresh chèvre, mozzarella, fromage blanc or Mt. Tam triple cream are also delicious.
